CY.B.RU.S. youth exchange gave 10 Scottish participants the opportunity to meet 20 European youth from a variety of geographical, political and social backgrounds. They spent a week in the mountain village of Agros breaking down barriers between different countries through icebreaker activities, workshops, intercultural nights, attending a football game between Scotland and Cyprus and daytrips to Nicosia and Limassol.
The breakdown of barriers between Scots was one of the positive unexpected outcomes of the exchange. It brought young people from different background across the nation: Clydebank, Fort William, Inverness and Edinburgh together to reflect on, as Niall Moorjani best put it, “what it means to be Scottish” in 2019.
We’re excited to share a photo gallery from the trip that captures the brilliant breakdown of stereotypes and the unparalleled cultural and educational experiences that the youth participated in.
Here at EPIC, we’re passionate about enabling people, communities and places to overcome disadvantage to aspire to their greatest potential. This trip is the perfect representation of everything we aspire to be. Check out our current projects to see how we’re creating opportunities at home and abroad for youth.
